Inactive Shut Down Control

Inactive Shut Down Control is a form for Microsoft® Access® that gives you the ability to automatically shut down your Access application after a specified period of user inactivity.

Now supports 64-bit versions of Access!

With Inactive Shut Down Control you can:

  • Automatically close Access applications when the user forgets to
  • Warn the user before the application is automatically closed
  • Set the period of inactivity that triggers an automatic shut down
  • Set the length of time that the shut down warning appears on the screen

Supports Access 2000 and later including 64-bit versions of Access

Instructions

The file at the link above contains a database with the Inactive Shut Down form. Import this form into your application database, edit the OnOpen event procedure to set the number of minutes until application shut down, open the form in hidden mode from your startup, or autoexec procedure, and your application will automatically shut down after a period of user inactivity!
